    Preguntas frecuentes

    En el uso cotidiano ambos términos se usan indistintamente, aunque "mancuerna" suele referirse al equipo con mango central para una mano, mientras "pesa" es un término más genérico que incluye discos, lastres y otros elementos de carga.

    Depende de tu nivel y objetivo: mujeres principiantes 2-8 kg, mujeres avanzadas 8-20 kg, hombres principiantes 8-15 kg y hombres avanzados 15-40 kg. Lo ideal es tener al menos dos pesos distintos para alternar ejercicios.

    Para home gym, las mancuernas hexagonales de goma o las ajustables/regulables son las más recomendables: no ruedan, protegen el suelo y ocupan poco espacio de almacenaje.

    Las de goma o uretano protegen mejor el suelo, son más silenciosas y muy resistentes al impacto; las de hierro fundido son más económicas y tradicionales pero requieren más mantenimiento y generan más ruido.

    Las hexagonales tienen caras planas que impiden que rueden por el suelo, ideales para ejercicios en el suelo o de core. Las redondas se diseñan para almacenarse en racks horizontales y ofrecen un centro de gravedad más concéntrico.

    Las fijas tienen un peso único e inmutable; las ajustables o regulables permiten cambiar el peso en el mismo cuerpo de la mancuerna, ahorrando espacio de almacenaje frente a tener varios pares fijos.

    Entrenar el mismo grupo muscular con mancuernas a diario sin descanso puede aumentar el riesgo de sobreentrenamiento y lesión; se recomienda alternar grupos musculares o dejar al menos 48h de descanso por grupo.

    No es imprescindible, pero un mancuernero facilita el orden, evita accidentes y protege el suelo del impacto de las mancuernas al dejarlas, especialmente si tienes varios pares de distinto peso.
